John Deere 2020

I recently had a neighbor of mine sell me a john deere 2020 that had been in the barn parked for a couple of years.. I paid $500 and after checking fluid levels, airing up the tires, and hooking up some jumper cables the green beauty instantly came to life with a turn of the key.. The only problem I had was it wouldn't turn back off after I got it home.. The only tractor Ive ever had was my jubilee and I know nothing about this new one.. Is there a lever or switch somewhere to kill it?????

If I remember right on the early tractors the hand throttle is on a hinge and you pull it up toward you the push the lever up.The later tractors were electic shut off on the fuel injection pump.

I know some of the 2020's had an electrically controlled solenoid(parts key #17) on inj pump and I think all of them did.

TX check the hand throttle in the parts book the early ones were different, the hinged up toward you.The 2510 used same pumps and engines the early ones were manual shut off.It has been 10 years since I have been around a 2020.

TX I do not have a 2020 parts book but I did just dig up 1967 dealer sales manual and it shows and mentions the hand throttle as being the shut off on the diesel. It must have been only the early ones as most that I have seen have the electic shut off.Our neighbor had a early one with that style,it also had a seperate hyd pump mounted on the front engine cover for the power steering.
