1020 hydraulic problem

My 1020 seems like the hydraulic pump is working all of the time, even when there is no hydraulic operations happening. After searching thru archived posts here, I looked in the filler hole and I see hydraulic oil running constantly. It appears to be coming from above the rear of the 3-point lift piston and running down over those components. My question is - where is this oil coming from and how do I go about fixing it?

It's possible the clearence on the RS control valves is too tight. More than likely the o-rings are leaking on the control valves. Far out possiblity thermal relief valve is bad. Here's a parts list if it's failed o-rings

2-L55204 ORING ADD 1.09 USD 2.18 USD

Yes that is what Jim described , but Isolating the SCV's would be a thought, you can do this by capping the supply line to the valve. If they are allowing oil to go through it would be discharging through the short hose going from the SCV to the rockshaft.

I agree Tim on isolating the scv but I rarely saw a SCV that would leak that bad but it is defintely a possiblity. I was even discussing bypassing the SCV on a 2630 this AM. The correct plug to do this is R39112 PLUG ADD 6.01 USD

I have been fighting with a 2030 off and on here, I have it narrowed down to the pressure control valve, and ordered parts for it this morning. On mine the hydraulics would work fine, loader would cycle nice at half throttle, go to full throttle and the priority/pressure control would slam shut, kill every thing but the steering. In the beginning the main pump had a outlet valve that backed out, this caused the hydraulics to pulse badly, repaired the pump and pulled the control valve sleeve out and the orifice had been beat up ,changed the sleeve and orifice out, still had this pressure kick out at high RPM's...so after isolating every thing I have decided that the bore of the pressure control valve is worn, letting oil get past at full flow, slamming the the priority valve shut till the pressure bleeds of and then after re-starting the engine it will work fine till full throttle again kicking out....Oohh yes I hate this Darn system, they are tuff to sort out...

Tim
Have you ever tried operaing hyd "without the priority valve" in the housing? I never tried when I was a service manager but I can't envision why hyd's won't function without valve in the housing. What do you think? Does 2030 you're working on have an ind loader valve?

Ooh yes, I tryed several different ways of running it,,Right now I"m set on replacing the housing, it subs to some new stuff, I ran it with the loader plumbed in ahead of the valve and it worked great, just messed up the steering as I raised the loader and steered at the same time, which is what the control valve deals with, isolated the steering,SCV"s and lifted the rockshaft and blocked it too....This darn thing is increasing the stand of Grey in my hair....but I think I"m gaining on it...
