Blowing shut right now

These are pictures from earlier today. I have been out twice tonight and will be every two hours tonight to try and keep a hole open. Right now I have about 1 and 1/2 truck width remaining with those blowing across half way up the window. Wish I didn't have a contaminated clutch in the 4020 and I wouldn't worry about it. As it is I may be in trouble anyway as its supposed to blow all day tomorrow hard. I have blown these banks back pretty far twice already this winter. Just glad its not Jan uary and -35. Supposed to be -15 tonight though...but warm up into the day..maybe 10 or so.

Ah you are just fooling, i have seen this SNOW GLOB for sale in WAL-MART. Really, i have not seen this much SNOW since 1993-94 in central NY. We don't seem to get our old style winters any more. Wish we did. No snowmobiles wear you are, i seen no signs. Get that clutch fixed, time to PLOW soon. Nice PHOTO..

Where ever it is I"m glad I"m not there Ben. Growing my Dad hated snow,,he would say if he ever won the Lotto he would buy a nice motor home and wire a snow shovel to the front of it,,,and drive till some one would ask "What"s that thing wired to the front",,and that"s where he would stay....

Update.

The wind was furious today. My overnight efforts kept the hole open well as the wind subsided overnight. Problem was that it picked up heavy during the day. Came home from workin about 6 pm and managed to squeeze the plow through. Had to fire up snowball. Temp is 3 degrees out ..25 mph winds and temps falling.

BTW..Northern Minnesota

2000 watt circ heater for 1/2 hour got it to fire. Clutch held long enough to blow the heck out that glacier. I will not complain any more about going in reverse to blow snow. The 4020 and 686 blower moves 3 1/2 to 4 foot compressed snow. Huge amount of snow..took maybe an hour to do the blowshuts and blow things back.
it is a life line and is an awsome machine.

Was listening to phenology on KAXE.org. They discuss plant, animal, weather changes etc..seasonal and historical on tues nights. Last year this time we had chipmunks out and apparently a butterfly.
Last year was very odd in that we ended up with quite a bit of snow late in season then it got to 60-65 for almost two weeks. Snow went away and no real mud season...no endless drip off the roof and freezing sidewalks.

Where are you at Nylon? I am in extreme SW MN about a mile from Iowa and this is the second year we havent even used the snow blower. Its on the 4020 in the shed ready at a moments notice but we have just started it a couple times on the warmer days. This picture is from I believe 3 years ago

The other 4020 with the loader has got some use this year but we havent hardly had any snow
Good luck up there

Im between Bemidji and Red Lake....Thought you guys were getting snow...maybe its Rochester, Fairmont...Albert Lea? Snowblower can sit for a couple of years and then when you need it...Glad you got it!

Are those 38's? I wonder how much speed difference there is in low reverse between 18.4 & 38. Too bad there wasn't a lower reverse rather then a 3rd high reverse..although I know TimS liked high reverse for stabbing rounds and then getting 4 /7 forward. The 790 4x4 also has a problem between hi low and its reverse gears. Mowing in 4 low is about perfect until you need to reverse which is too slow...be good for a blower though and high reverse at pto rpm belly mower is like drag racing.

Yep over by Rochester we are getting our winters snow allotement all in March. Before March I hadn't needed the snowblower since winter of 2010/2011. This from early in that winter catch some dirt from the field...............

We got some snow probably 18 inches maybe more but the ground is bare now, my fiance's parents by Blue Earth got decent amount of snow now but we always seem to get missed by it. I dont like snow but I want the moisture lol. Yes the 4020 has 18.4Rx38's on it. I do not know the actual speed difference as I do have 2 other 4020's with 18.4Rx34s on them but I do know there is a difference. The 38's will make a 4020 out run a 966 IH. I should find the pics of the winter of 96 and 97 when we had drifts higher than the cab of the tractor. The 4020 got 200+ hrs that year.
