Im ready to reinstall the oil pump gears. Do I take off the plate that has the Gov on it, which would seem likely as its about over the pump, OR the plate behind it?

I thought I had put this on before, but I went back 10 pages and couldnt find it. IF I have, Im sorry to be posting it again.

The one behind it, there's enough room for ya
to reach inside & make sure the drive coupler
is in place.. Remember the ( roughly) 1/2"
inside square drive...

Just take off the crankcase cover. You should be able to reach in and align the drive shaft and coupler to the driving shaft below the governor. If you take the gov housing loose, you will end up having to remove the endcap on the gov. to retime the cam/governor drive.. and then you would likely have to reshim the govenor gears if you tear up, (likely) the shim gaskets on the endcap on the left side of the governor housing.
You would have to take the crankcase cover off anyway, to disconnect the oil line to the governor, so start with the crank cover and you'll see what I mean.
