John Deere B axle Seals? Best place to buy?

I need to do the axle seals in the John Deere B we are re-doing, Is there any other source than deere? I looked up Davenport Tractor but says they do not have any. Also couldn't find them on NAPA's site. The B is a 1945 also...

If I remember right you are near Canton Oh. ?

Price them from Deere and also check with Akron Bearings. They always used to keep a very good supply of bearings and seals in stock.

Ok, so the part # is 23710. I crossed the 2 different part #s over from deere and came back with 2 different seals. I took both numbers to Napa to see the difference the owner told me that the only difference is a dust seal on the actual seal. Since there is no dust, you can get the cheaper ones. Mine were $12.99 each. Now I haven't put them in yet, but don't see any reason they won't work.

In terms of the felt seals, like someone else said give them a good washing out. All they do is keep dust out of the axle.

When you pull the rear axle to do the seals (I hope you know they are on the inside of the axle next to the bull gear) don't forget to mop out the oil from inside the axle. Otherwise you might think it is leaking again.

Have a good time. :)
