Running cables through rear of 4240 cab

Trying to figure out a better way to get the sprayer controller cables through the cab of our 4240 with Soundguard cab. Currently we run them through the bottom of the window. We have the plate that is removable in the back of the cab, but I cannot find a grommet with "fingers" to put in a hole that will look good. Any suggestions?

Last year I used plate A52855 and the two grommets that fit into it, L152591. The plate was around $40 and the two grommets together were about $23. This year I am doing it to another tractor, but will only buy the grommets and try to cut the existing plate so they fit. The grommets fit a u-shape cut in the plate.

What you mentioned is what I have on my 4255. One can also get the grommet without the hole in it.

Thanks guys. What size hole is in the grommet? Since we use
the tractor for multiple uses I wanted to push the cable through
without removing the plate every time we need the sprayer. I
need about an inch and a half to fit the Hardi connector.

In my 4240 I have my gps console mounted behind the side console and my auto steer etc, mounted up to the right of the dash. All cables run down through a 1.5" hole I drilled through the mat at front at dash, then through a hole drilled in the floor. There is a removable floor panel under the clutch pedal somewhere there too. Rout cables under the floor and mount on the back. VERY clean install. I used to use the hole behind the seat, this is way better. Gps ant cables then go up behind the black outer cab corners to under roof then out where you need them.

Actually with an air wrench or even hand ratchet it wouldn't take very long to R&R plate with grommets to change cables as there's only 6 little stud bolts.

Where did you find that parts diagram with the plate with the grommets in it? I checked the 40 series books and also the 55 series and could not find it. Also, what is the part number for the grommet without the hole in it?

It's not located in any tractor parts catalog that have a SGB. I know JD has them because my tractor has a solid grommet. Just go to JDparts.com,click on the box "where used search" and enter part # A52855 and a list of parts catalogs that the plate is in show up. I found this one for a comfort cab that may work R111701 GROMMET ADD 10.10 USD. I know JD has them because my tractor has a solid grommet. I found a another part # for a grommet L76331 but it subs to L152591

I think what I'll do is do some fabricating. Cut out a new plate
using the current as a template. Cut a rectangular hole in it.
Put a soft edge around it and hinge the cutout with a couple of
cut outs slots for the wires.

Open door, put cable through, secure in slot, close door,
attach to controller. Should be cheaper and more convienent.
With care should also look good.
