Which would be your choice as there is not much difference in price.I like originals as they are hard to find and not too nice to use and have a character of their own.

I want original if I am buying. I want to see the leaks and damage. I may or may not choose to fix it a little as I go...but what ever I have it gets the stuff worked out of it. If I own it, it must earn it's keep.

Restored ONLY if the owner before you spent 3 times what it is worth doing it right.
Otherwise, original is the way to go as it will be worth more in the long run and it is WYSIWYG.
(What you see is what you get)

Excellent original is way more rare then restored. Anyone can spend the money to restore one but there is one less original for each restored one and you can't get that back.

Some of the best ones I have ever bought were not even original paint ,but WERE from the original owners ! Seems like if they keep them a long time they tended to take better care of them too.

My favorites are the originals, thats why 3/4 of my collection are that way. Its probably because of the way I got into collecting, my grandpa gave me his 28 GP on steel sitting in the tree row with not a lot of paint left, had never been stuck but it had character. That was in 1972, buy the mid 1980's I started collecting.

I wouldn't buy a Completely restored tractor because you know the guy is lying.Everyone on craigslist has completely restored tractor for sale.

This is the great thing about this hobby. It's like going to the Burger-King--We can have it our way. I personally like museum or new quality. Something like it came off the assembly line or the John Deere Dealer just unloaded it in your yard only 50 plus years have slipped by somewhere. Sometimes you get a good feeling that you just saved a little bit of history from becoming scrapped. Their is a huge difference between a quality project and a painted old tractor. These tractors are also like people in the fact if you can trace their history there is a story behind every one of them. Most have served their owners well and have done their share of work and others are still in the field working. I have also enjoyed meeting some of the most wonderful people in this hobby. It is just personal but to me it's like comparing a fine auto museum to a used car lot.

Unmolested Originals all the way.. nice original working clothes are the best. Change the fluids touch up the leaks redo the mag and carb and away we go for another 50 years. Look around at any show you go to there are plenty of painted tractors alot more then originals but at those shows the originals draw alot of attention. Just my 2 cents guys

Original's are very nice! They tell a story and draw a crowd at shows! Originals are hard to find! I do like Fully restored also but it has to be done with out cutting corners as so many dont go the extra mile on a restore! Here a some pics of Both Original and restored!
