Three Point operating cable 4020 D

I have a 1968 4020 and of course the control levers are on the dash. I can barely operate the 3 point because the control cable is sticking so bad. I got under the cowl and put penetrating oil on it a year ago and that helped for a while. I would like to replace it if possible. This tractor has a Year Around cab also. How bad of a job is this to do? What kind of special problems am I likely to run into? Thanks

Dittos what Jim said. Was having trouble with mine a while back. I took the cable loose under the cowl and shot some penetrating oil inside the sheath that the cable is in. Works good now. May not be a permanent fix but so far so good.

I have had some luck freeing them up by taking them out, clamping the housing in a vice, then putting a drill on the cable core and spinning it. Work the cable in and out and spray it good with your favorite penetrating oil. Make sure the seals are in place when you put it back on the tractor.
