What is your opinion of this antifrese. The dealer says it is good for 6 years or 6000 hours.I change antifrese every two years. It is expensive but worth it if you don:t have it every two years. Lloyd

If I was concerned about Cool-Gard's inefficiency rather than drain it prematurely I'd suggest utilizing coolant test strips. You could also get this DKD1620 Maintenance Pocket Handbook

If you get the coolant test strips from john deere they will not work with coolguard 2. It says so right on the instructions.

This should also work

AT183016 - COOLANT TEST KIT
Protecting engines from liner cavitation and rust is as important as checking their oil condition. This kit will provide details to indicate if the fluid is protecting the engine. The test results for this kit report include:
Freezing Point
% Antifreeze – Coolant
pH level
Reserve Alkalinity
Nitrite – Cavitation control additive
Molybdate – Rust inhibitor additive
Silicate
Corrosion Metals
Visual Assessment
The kits are sold in 6 packs of the self-extracting style bottle, which includes a section of tubing to collect the sample. This test should be taken every 500 hours or annually.
PUMP, SAMPLE

Ive gone to several classes on the Deere coolant and have seen its effects in action. I would highly reccomend it for any engines. Especially Deere diesels. It has the correct additives to stop liner cavitation, plus the premix has de-ionized water, meaning its about as pure of water as you will find. It still needs to be checked yearly for the additives, but there should be no problem using it for a full 6 years.
