Carburetor TSX-245 Question

I've got a couple of different TSX-245 carburetors and the one that I'm rebuilding has a different size air inlet than the rest of them and it appears that the wrong choke baffle is installed because there is approximately an 1/8 of an inch around the whole thing when it is centered. Does anyone have any idea what carburetor kit or just choke baffle that I need for this carburetor. The air inlet on this carb is about 1/4" bigger in diameter than the other TSX-245's that I have. I'm worried that the previous owner may have pieced together this carb and it has the wrong bottom. It is off of a late 40's MT. Any help would be appreciated.

I agree - sounds like someone mixed and mismatched parts. They used a bowl from a larger bore TSX-??? carb and stuck the choke plate from the smaller -245 into it. (I'll bet you'll find it's got the wrong (larger) venturi ring in it too.)

My recommendation would be to relegate this "mongrel TSX-245" to your parts collection and replace it with one of your other TSX-245's.
