70D low power

I have a low power issue with this tractor. Watched it pull in a video and noticed no black smoke, also the pull was not that impressive. I don"t have a vast knowledge of these tractors but I have seen a pretty good smoke show from one with a 4 bottom plow. I suspect not enough fuel. I think I will start with making sure it is getting full throttle travel(I need to read up on that). It starts good and runs good too, we did notice that when we idled it to the throttle stop it died. Maybe just a throttle adjustment. Fuel filters new before the pull (had moisture in them) any ideas would be great

Bill...many 70D pullers install the larger pumps from a 730. That may be why they're getting more fuel into the cylinders and making blacksmoke.

Get a manual, you can open the fuel rack ALL the way. If its a stock tractor, pulling on a track means FIRST gear only. 2nd gear WONT work unless you loose a couple thousand pounds & pull in light classes (DUMB imo). Make sure the high idle is at least @ factory spec. 300 rpm really wakes em up.

Would be the 1st time that somebody put the tractor back together. And did not have the throttle linkage, govenor linkage and the rack linkage pivot point set correctly.
