4250's are just as good as the rest of the 50/55 series RC tractors. I have a 4255 with 10,500 hrs that has been a good tractor. I've owned it since '93. I've seen them go 12000-15000 hrs before an overhaul is required. It all depends on the quality of maintenance.

the 4455 was a good choice... i'd pick a powershift over a quad any day of the week.

As to the 4250, a JD service manager told me a few years ago that the rear end of some of them, I think those with long axles, is the same as the 4450, while the short axled version is a little lighter. Any truth to this?
