john deere 60 oil pressure

I was reading in the repair manual and it says that the engine should have 10 to 15 psi. Would it hurt anything if the oil pressure was turned up a little seems a little low to me

Test the dash gauge. Sometimes the wrong gauge or a tired gauge is the fault.
Massive bearing diameter, width and speed with relation to the load. It ain't no supercharged Corvette.
It isn't the 15psi of lubrication system pressure that holds the crank journals up off the bearings.
It's a hydrodynamic oil wedge formed by the relative speed between the bearing/journal,the oil viscosity and journal to bearing clearance. That holds the metal surfaces apart. Not much different from surfing actually.
If much oil pressure and therefore flow. The extra oil will overload and make it's way past the crankshaft slingers.
Just needs enough pressure to push oil into the space and enough flow to carry heat out of the bearing.
Could be that the oil pump is already maxed out due to engine and pump wear. It's an oil pressure controler which is only a maximun pressure relief valve.Makes no difference in the oil system if it's set at 16psi and the pump can only make 15psi back pressure.
The relief valve is mostly there in case Bubba has 50wt in the crankcase and he redlines a cold engine at 0F.
