I overhauled the power steering pump on my buddies 830 and right now the steel line is hot as well as the pump. I put it back together just like the manual showed as I had to put all new seals in it was well as a new bearing and bushing. Does it possibly have an air lock since I took all the lines off of it? |

| If the steering works, then no air issue. Heat means resistance. Either metal on metal, but if the suction line is hot it could be back feeding. How worn are the gears? What did you use to seal between the pump housing pieces? If you used something to thick then it will bleed back. Tim |

| I didn't use anything to seal between the pieces as there was nothing used between them when I took it apart. The gears seemed fine in them but I'm going to take it back apart and see what's going on. |
