Does anyone know if the new style hang on front weights were avail. On new gen tractors? The parts web page shows them. Just wondering since I have hang on and not as many slabs. I do like the slab weights better on new gems. |

| Anyone interested in lending/renting 2500+ lbs worth for Aug 17, so I can try pulling at the steam show in Forest On? |

| Frt weights were discussed a little while back. Slab weights were introduced with the 10 series IE 3010 & 4010 and were continued with the 20 series. The suitcase weights were introduced on the 30 series IE 4030,4230 & 4430 |

| As Jim said, the 10/20 series tractors had slab weights from the factory. the 30 series were the first to have factory suitcase weights, BUT they could also have slab weights mounted. I imagine many guys traded in the 4010 for a 4430 and kept the weights they already owned versus paying for the new suitcase weights.
Deere also made a suitcase weight hanger for the 10/20 series AFTER they introduced the weights in 1973. Until 1973, no 4020 had suitcase weights hanging on it - only slab weights.
I'm with you, I like the looks of the slab weights on the New Gens. Suitcase weights are handier, but look odd on a 4020 to me. But, to each his own. If you got the starter bracket and the weights, mount 'em up! |

| Thank you sir. I knew I could depend on your wisdom once again. If you look at the Raleigh NC Craigslist and search 4020 there are pics of the 72 PS I just finished with your help several times. thanks David |
