Thanks for the tips. The problem is that the vinyl is sun dried to where it won't peel, just snaps and breaks. This M sat outside for awhile. I was hoping for something that could dissolve the glue but not burn up the steering wheel's rubber. Ben W. |

| WD-40 is a tremendous solvent for that type of stickem, trouble will be that it can't get thru the layers of vinyl to soak the bottom layer good. But with the cut around the circumference done, there might be enough cracks in the old rubber to let enough in there to do a fair job of it. I'd let it soak for at least a day. It shouldn't harm the rubber at all, but could make it messy handling until it dried off. |

| Heat gun like was mentioned. If the glue is a problem after the tape is off, paint-prep or any alcohol based pre-paint cleaner will get the glue with enough soaking and scrubbing. Jim |
