3020 loses hydrolics

Working with the neighbor on his '72 3020, giving it a complete overhaul of everything after the balancer in the engine broke a part off and he mentioned that after he bales hay and is riding the clutch as he backs loads in that he loses hydrolic pressure. I know the 20's do that if the clutch is held long enough but he says it happens very quickly. Asked our local JD expert and he said to take the check valves and pressure releif valves out of that housing by the trans oil filter and look for a small piece of plastic from the three point to be stuck in there. Well found nothing by pulling valves off but when the housing was removed there was a small piece resting inside. Didnt appear to be the problem.
Do you fellas have any more ideas we can try? Thanks Mitch

Next thing to check would be for internal high pressure leaks such as steering,3pt &/or scv's. Try checking temp of each with a thermal radar gun.
