Cross Reference Help? John Deere Seals?

I've got a John Deere LUC engine field dressed in the shop right now and I'm trying to figure out how to cross reference the seals. They have Deere part numbers on them? I'd assume any NAPA could probably get them for you if there was a way to cross reference it. Anybody have any help on this? Anyone ever did this? Thanks in advance!!!

"field dressed" Ha,HA !!! I like that !!!

Most of the JD seal numbers can be crossed in seal catalogs. Every once in awhile you will find one that was special made and even JD doesn't even sell it anymore too.

I always do check price with JD as sometimes (not always) they are the best price on fast moving common items.

If you are looking for crankshaft seals i think you may struggle with the rear. i ended up getting a seal with the same internal dimension and depth but smaller outside dimension then spun up an aluminium spacer to press into the housing. hope this helps
I may be able to dig yp some photo's or sizes if it is of any help.

Stick with Deere. On my LA engine rebuild Deere had everythig I needed. My local Napa wouldn't give me the time to cross the part numbers. The few they did were more money.

Here are my numbers from the parts book. I tried Deere and they said they didn't have anything. Boy, I sure appreciate the help guys!

Are you perhaps referring to the seal, Key #22 on the hydro speed change shaft?

If so DEERE part # is M71844, which does NOT come up in the CR/SKF on-line cross reference.

I don't see it on the Timken site, either.

The Timken # you have crosses to a 7414.

Yes the seal, Key #22 on the hydro speed change shaft.
I already replaced it. I went to Seal Co here in Oklahoma and they measured it and gave me a Timken part # 254270 but it it still leaking.
I think i can replace it again without dropping the transmission.
