I think it is about time the johnypoppers had a separate forum, much like the Ford groups have 3 forums, N'S, Jubilees, and Fordsons. The posts for the old 2 cyl deeres and the newer tractors seldom have a relevant connecting thread.
This forum is seldom relevant for the older tractors.

Yeah, I never understood why the Fordson's got their own forum given the volume. At this point in time why could not the N series tractors and Ferguson's be in a common forum or move the Ferguson's to the MF forum? I was not so much thinking the older Deere's but separating White out of the MM and Oliver boards. There is too much on the IH forum and maybe the older Farmall tractors should have their own board plus the 1963 and newer for the other. The way a number of Case and IH enthusiasts feel about the merger maybe Case IH or now Case New Holland should be separate. I am not thinking in terms of elitism but certain topics I enjoy get buried too quickly especially on the IH forum.

I also think thats a good idea alot of the information about the older Deere's gets lost or you have to weed through New Gen info to find something you want or need to read. If it was setup so when you click John Deere a sub menu came up with say years of tractors 1930-37 and 38-41 so on and so on. Its just my 2 cents worth, either way I will keep reading on.

We are all guests on this site however your comments are worthy of thought. OUr tractor club was running into ths lines of thought. The rule of thumb is antique was pre 1960. When you're having a club show this really gets interesting. Folks that grew up driving or owning these originals would be somewhat 52 plus years old. We found that the next two generations started calling the later models somewhat antique. Most of the older crowd is either decesaed or arthritic and very small group. We decided to allow any and all tractors to our show, changed the same to Farm Fest and now it is flurishing. Antique can mean a lot of good things but sometimes to a very small group. We found being inclusinve a much better approach. It is refressing to see people of all ages bringing tractors they grew up on or pruchased new. Hind site is always 20/20 insight is mostly like looking down the opposite end of a telescope.
