Price of the wire mesh grill

There is some less expensive universal cut
to fit that looks good if it's installed right.

Using a styled JD "B" for an example (since you wouldn't specify) for $40 you can get enough material for two grills and bend it yourself and once it is in you can't tell it from the so called "correct" pre-bent with 1/2" strips behind grill bar type. Also I thing some of the real early ones had a round twisted wire mesh. Don't know where you can get that but it would really give you sticker shock. No reason to buy the pre-bent ones as after shipping they will need bending to fit correctly anyway. A little enginuity goes a long way or one can end up with way more into a tractor than it will ever be worth.

I know of 2 places that likely have the best prices when it comes to wire mesh material - first off try Mcmaster Carr industrial supply house - their prices go up and down a lot, but in general, they are usually pretty good. I also know of a small mesh manufacturer in new jersey - http://www.bwire.com/index.html - they should also have the stuff you are in need of in stock and ready to ship same day for a decent price. Give those 2 a try.
