will a loader fit my 4020

looking at a mf 246 loader for my 4020. i have a cab on my 4020 and was thinking that this type of quick tach loader would fit. just wanted to be sure before i look at it too hard. the fella that has the loader dont have a cab on his 4020.

Just to be clear? This is a Massey Ferguson model 246 loaded which is currently mounted on a open station 4020?
Are the 4020"s early or side console
What valving is currently being used to control the loaded boom and bucket rams?

mine is not a side counsole, not sure what the seller has, never asked. loader is off the tractor. seller had it hooked to the rear hydraulics.

How many scv's on your tractor? What are your plans for this loader? Hobby, light/ occasional duty or primary daily user to make a living?
Your tractor PS or syncro?

Installing a loader from an open station 4020 to a 4020 with cab should not be any problem.

(quoted from post at 12:17:41 02/05/13) i use it to do all my hay work in summer and snow work in winter. got two scv's on mine and it's a powershift.

Since your 4020 is a powershift then it's not as important to have loader control valve oil routed hyd filter because the trans pump on a PS pumps hyd oil all the time the engine is running. The opposite is true on a syncro-range trans.

was reading up on some of that about how to plumb a loader valve so i dont have to use my scv's but good to know i dont have to worry about it as much. but, do i plumb it like the sychro's to the loader valve???

If the loader has an ind valve then I'd tee into the line by brake valve and return the oil to the rockshaft return line on LH side by the hyd filters. This would leave the SCV's free to operate other equipment.
