I know B-D"s comments sound it a bit rough at times, but hes just trying to make a point, and a good one he does. If you are going to the trouble to put pistons in it, chances are there are other things that it needs. If you are going to do that deep of work, youre right there to put in new bearings and have the fuel system done. Is it expensive, sure, but as he says, its cheaper than going back and doing it a second time. Are these machines complicated? in the grand scheme of things, no not really, but they have little things that can bite you if you dont know the tricks. Albert Ulrich (Rennisance Tractor) can make a two cylinder diesel run like no other ive ever seen. And im talking about a tractor you can take out and work all day, not one to go 300ft at a time and youre lucky if it lasts to get on the trailer.
