Just got these back from France. 4020 is not nice at all, 3020 should be a nice tractor once the engine has been sorted. The only late 3020 ps we know of in the UK.

| Bit of an update, had the the front end and engine off the 3020. Engine was seized (water) so has been sent off for a rebuild. Meanwhile the rear has been improved. Gone is the European hitch, replaced with drawbar. Changed the link arms, added sway blocks. Everything is tight and moves now. Just need to change the scvs for long stem ones then the rear end is complete. Seat has had new cushions put on it and we have started straightening the hood as best we can.

| Yea the 4020 is a bit of a step too far, having said that we have saved one from a similar state before.
Thing is we just dont have the amount of these tractors that you do over there. We might see 5 4020s for sale a year, and even fewer 3020s. we dont have the choice of nice straight originals. |

| Looks like a'project', allright. Mut there have been uglier machines than those put back together, and some nice looking machines from them have arisen. Have fun. |

| They give a new meaning to rough. To me you will have as much in them as buying one that is running. The 3020 does have some parts that look usable and if you could put the HFWA from 4020 on 3020 you would have a $30,000 tractor or more. The 4020 even being a late 71/72 syngro if it wasnt for HFWA I dont see much that is salvageable.I like that the plastic wrapper is still on whats left of seat.Definately a big project and I know of $100.000 cars that started out as basically a serial # on a frame. |

| The lift assist isnt from JD, looks to be quite a recent addition. We arnt sure if we are going to tackle the 4020. Believe is or not those pics don't show how bad it really is. Supposedly the motor runs but the balancer has had one of its 2 studs (i cant think what to call them broken off) |

| Hi Pete. That sure is going to be a nice 4020 when its done. My father and I got a 4020 from a guy and he bought it from france. It looks identical to yours with the lift asist three point hitch. I was just wondering if you know the serial number, it would be nice to compare it to ours and see if the numbers are close. I attached a picture but dont have one of the rear end to show you the resemblance. thanks and good luck with your restorations. |

| I see what you mean Tim ;) theres little value to that over here though, fwa dont have the same value attached as they do in the US.
Yes Pat we have had to have that done too, either that or gas the axles which looks horrible. |

| That late model 3020 PS HFWA should be worth spending some money on to restore. |

I only know how to post photo in "Modern view". One needs to have photo downloaded on their computer. Then go below "submit button" to large box below red line that states "Advanced Posting Tools" then click on "upload photo",click on drowse then upload photo then click "continue". |

| It works the same in the classic view, which I seem to like better, like Jim said you need to have your picture in a file to "browse" in..I am building files for different repairs so I can pull a photo out and post it to help explain some of the repairs we talk about on here. |
