I am looking for a set of front steel wheels that fit a JD Model R through an 830. If anyone has a set for sale or know of a set available please let me know. My understanding is that the front steel wheels are the same for a Model R, 80, 820, and 830.

As always I appreciate everyone’s help!!!

pretty hard thing to find front steel wheels for the big diesel 2 cylinders. And you need the cut offs before you can get them rerimed. Good luck. My father and I have 2 Rs on rear steel and we looked along time before we found some fronts. again good luck

Were the steel wheels on these tractors used in a certain part of the country? I remember driving through Pennsylvania as a kid and seeing other two cylinders on steel, including 4020's..

steel was popular with rice farmers they were also used in places where certain types of brush easily puntured tires ,,,,,,,,,,the Amish people generally used steel on their equiptment including tractors,,,,,,,,we have seen many red tractors in wisconsin with steel wheels they fabricated themselves ,,,,,they did an excellent job ,,,we are sure there are others that can shed light on this topic also.
