I have a JD630 lp that i have that has cast sprockets on the axles[ Both sides].they are between the axle housing and the tire on the axle. They are a double sprocket with a 9 tooth and a 12 tooth sprocket. part # is P-1884-B and P-1885-b with aJD symbol on them also. they have a JD symbol on them and say 60-70 tractor on them. This tractor was origanally shipped to oklahoma. What are they for??? what do they drive?? this is something i have not seen in the upper midwest.Cotton or tobbaco planter or harvester??? thanks for the help.

the axle sprockets on our 60 were used to run dry fertilizer from front mounted boxes when we cultivated they ran with an open chain drive probably not in compliance with OSHA kinda like the spoker D flywheels WIDOW MAKERS we also had a sprocket on the brake drum of our G that ran the fertlizer boxes via a chain when we cultivated . some Jd literature has shown the set up for the axle mount sprockets .

You can see the chain in this picture. The 630 would have 4 or 6 row planters.
