The engine on the 4020D is out and on the way to the machine shop. We found out why the blowby was so bad. The number 3 and 4 pistons had cracked rings and the number 4 was burned out where the first ring was cracked. It has always been a hard starter, but never had any ether. The engine had low oil pressure, so I expected all the bearings to be shot, but the mains and rods looked good. The cam bearings were really worn and down to brass. I wonder if someone did an inframe on it? |

| Rod & main inserts should have a date stamped in them. |

| Just checked them 11/66, right in line for a 1966, just not worn like I would expect on an engine with 8000 hours. |
