Early styled Gs-1942

I've had a couple of people tell me that Deere made styled Gs before the GM with a 4 speed in it just like the US Gs. Is this true? How many of them were possibly made?

Thanks

No, they would be GM's. Starting at SN 13000. There were G's that looked like GM's. They had pan seats. At 26000 they put battery boxes on them.

Yes, the styled tractors ordered on steel did not have 5th and 6th gear installed. The shift quadrant had the 5-6 spot but nothing was there when moved the lever up there-so it was not just like the unstyled tractors in that regard.

I have one in the shed, '42 hand start on steel that has never been updated and was shipped that way.
