Electronic ignition for 720D?

Is there an electronic ignition conversion made for a 720D starter motor?

None that I am aware of... It would be a complex unit if anyone made one. I'm guessing because of the complexity and the limited number of potential buyers such a thing will never be produced.

Not sure I understand your question. Are you looking for an upgrade for your starter ? The diesels (as far as I know) have no ignition other than the odd 'glow' plug.

The John Deere diesels of that era had a 4 cyl. gas engine that started the diesel. It had a distributor that easily fried coils if you weren't careful and were expensive to replace.
