4020 hydraulic fluid overflow leak

My 66 4020 pwr shift diesel has a line under the power steering pump in the dash that leaks. I believe its an overflow line that is only supposed to have around 15 psi pressure at the most, but when I start it, it will blow the rubber line, which is cappable of 150 psi. The old line was metal, but deere sells a rebuild kit with two metal fittings and a rubber line.please help

Something is probably plugged or a line is squashed between there and where that circuit dumps into the RH side of the transmission housing.

Are you using the Deere hose? It is special with a higher psi rating than fuel line hose.I tried fuel line hose and it lasted about five months, the special Deere hose has been on over a year now.

I replace them with a brake line that I bend and double flair useing the original ends. Is this line on top of the steering valve or running down the front to the side. Down the side would be a break line not the leak off.

Yes its a hose from deere. I believe the line does go to the brakes...why would it have that much pressure

The plastic line on the back side of the steer valve comes from the pressure control valve, it acts as a dump so that the control valve can move, with out it it creates a hydraulic lock, it dumps into the steer valve housing and then on through the return fitting at the lower left of the base. you could cap it at the steer valve and run it down and tee it into the seal drain return line at the top right of the transmission, or go with a steel line..I only mentioned the "re-route" because there is not much room behind the steer valve..
