need to remove the head from a 620 gas John Deere the manifold bolts thisted off and theres antifreeze in the motor oil can't find a service manual anywhere can someone talk me through it? I need the tourqes when i put back together also Ive rebuit John Deere B and D before but nothing this new Thanks for any help Howard

Deere did not publish a Service Manual for the 620 or 630, told everyone to use the 60 manual and I imagine they sent out Bulletins to cover the necessary changes. Torques, etc. will be the same as with a 60.

I buy my manuals for this vintage of tractors from Davenport Tractor.

The Technical Writers were busy working on manuals for the new generation tractors is why there is not a manual for the 620/630.

You probably could have avoided twisting most of them off, with patience and a light Brass hammer with penetrating oil..
Use Left-Handed drill bits to drill the broken bolts out and do NOT drill past the bottom of the existing holes...You will feel if the drill bit cuts thru the bottom of the broken bolt..
The Center (Intake) Bolts should not have twisted off...
You could have drilled the Exhaust manifold bolts..with the Head still on..
But, if the Ex Gaskets were blowing out, the Head has to go to a Machine Shop or the Gaskets will never hold..

Ron..
