IowaJohn 01-18-2013 09:26:22 67.55.240.220 Report to Moderator	I"m thinking about changing my planter tractor from my 4430 to the 4455. quicker hydraulics,better seat,PS over QR. Anyway my Black Machine planter is light on the hitch. I have 5 Z-weights on each side of the 4430 and would like to know if they will fit the '55. I pulled the planter with the'55 a year ago to finish up and it needed some weight. Thank you to all who reply [Reply]   [No Email]

But not because you may or may not have rack and pinion rear wheels, but because Deere changed the castings for the rear wheels, to make them heavier. You'll need to take them all off to get the longer bolts that hold on the first weight. Best part is I doubt you'll need all 5 as the 4455 should be considerably heavier right out the gate. My 4255 doesn't have rack & pinion rear wheels and the Z weights I had wouldn't fit and I'm fairly confident 4455 rear wheels are the same. This post was edited by Tx Jim at 10:44:04 01/18/13. I was told once that the 4440 and bigger tractors needed the latter weights with the bigger centers. Our one 3020 has a set of the bigger center weights on it. [Reply]  [No Email]

I know for a fact that the 4240 that I traded in on the 4255 had Z weights on it. Those are the weights I tried to install on my 4255. I looked in 4440 parts catalog but it showed different weights than the Z weights. [Reply]  [No Email]
