early model A pistons verses late model

happy new year all. I'm playin with a 1940 A that i had to have bored out to .125 over a dealer said he took a set 125over pistons out of an early model but he was sure they were for a late model. will aluminum pistons for a late A work or did someone do a bunch of modification to make this work??? thank as always tim

If I remember right, from 40 up the wrist pins were the same size, 39 and back were smaller. I put late alum A pistons in a 46 A, didn't have any problems
