I just wanted to post and say thanks for all the help on this and also that some members comment and wish when people fixed their issues they posted back. I did update the topic I started on this and am posting here so well in the future in case it helps anyone they find it in a search.

But it ended up being the head gasket and now it has heat back working in the cab! So thanks for everything.

Badger, I had the same thing with a 4650. No heat in the cab and it did end up being a blown head gasket. A clear hose spliced into the heater hose showed only bubbles going up to the heater. Jim

Yep, pretty much same thing. In the antifreeze reservoir tank we could see bubbles. Odd....but it nice to have heat back. Glad to hear we weren't the only ones thinking it was odd!

On my JD 2955 it would heat up every time I used it. I replaced the thermostats, had the rad rodded out and is still heats up. I have it in the shop now. The mech said he would have to take the manifold off and pressure check it to see if it is the head gasket. Any suggestions. Roy

I don't understand what removing manifold has to do with pressure checking radiator? Has your mechanic looked for air bubbles in cooling system??

I don't think the mech has looked for bubbles yet. He just said he would have to remove the exhaust manifold and pressure check to see if the head gasket is leaking. I will confront him tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Roy
