There were a fair number of 4050, 4250, 4055, and 4255 tractors sold with ROPS or open station here in the Northeast. I just saw a 4250 with ROPS sell at a dealership auction Saturday. Far fewer 4450 and 4455 tractors without SGB. Some smaller farmers were slow to accept SGB plus the 1980's were a difficult time and farmers tried parring cost down where possible. It happens to fit my operation pretty good and was just unusual enough that I decided to buy it. I have seen a few 4040's and 4050 but never anything newer than that here in NW Indiana. Has the 466 motor. I talked to the original owner that bought it new who farmed 80 acres. Other than the Mexican 4455's I thought this was the last series of the true open station tractors. I asked the guy who bought mine new if they had a hard time getting it for him and he said no, but he did order the tractor, it was not dealer inventory.
