i just bought a 4020 dsl that has been sitting in a shed for the past 7 years. other than batteries and new fuel filters, will the fuel need to be drained? Anything else?? thanks.

Yes I would drain the fuel and also change the engine oil, be on the look out for the engine oil to gain fuel into it, when they set around the transfer pump diagram kinda rots out, and the coupling in the injector pump gets weak and will start to break up, a little bit of time running it will tell, A guy near me got one out a barn from setting about that long and it had a big mouse nest in the clutch housing had the clutch stuff all rusted and stuck,,hope you don't have that problem...
