I was reassembling my clutch that has been apart 10 years - the friction discs have a break/split and I think I need new ones - Deere wants $181.54 each!!! I checked the PC658 parts bbok for unstyled D tractors - the part picture for D384R shows a crack at the 3 o'clock position - the picture looks just like my discs - Is the picture just a artists mistake or are the discs actually split from new?? As you can see from the pictures there is about a 3/8" split -where the pliers are pointing - but the discs fit perfectly in the pulley and the adjusting disc -it looks like the remains of staples or stitches where the split is. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks Ken |

| Bought a new set about 20 years ago for my 27 D. They were stapled together and looked just like yours. Checked them a couple years ago and the staples were pulled out of one of them. If they are thick enough so you can still adjust your clutch, run them. Shouldn't vause a problem |
