Black. Not quite gloss...I am happy with satin although it maybe should be just a tad glossier than satin. Next time I am gonna try a tip I got from Rick on American Restorations; Mix some corn starch with gloss to dull it a tad.
I may be wrong about this part, and I am sure I will hear it if I am: but I believe if you want to be 100% color correct the pully should be green.

ot saying your wrong but I have never heard of, or seen a Green pulley on a Black Generator? Its true Black is the proper color for the 60 Generator.
 
Mr. Thinker told a guy a few mos back that Deeere mad their own pulleys which were painted green and out sourced the generators at that time.
 
Interesting, I'll have to look at my 70 to see if the pulley is green. It's original and I know the generator is black.
