I remember from my youth that the "gizmo" was a little difficult for one man to attach to the axle studs on both sides. Back in the 40's-60's it was thought by farmers that a row crop couldn't be successfully made with bedding and re-bedding. Now no-til and just plain flat planting has proved the old farmers were incorrect.
