Late JD 50 wiring diagram

Hi all, Im having a problem finding a correct wiring diagram for my 1955 JD 50. I have the manual for the 50, both operators and service that were printed in 1952. My 1955 50 looks more like a 520 possibly. I have a delco rely distributor and it has, what appears a factory ignition resistor under the dash. My service shows I think a wico distributor and no ign resistor. Anyone have a late 50 or 520 diagram that they could post? Also was there a timeline when the wiring system was updated?
Thanks
Joel

This is the only diagram I have access to, its for the Delco system with a ballast and supposedly covers BOTH 50 and 520????? so no idea or guarantee its what you actually have. Far as I know the Wico XB was for a 6 volt so it also would have needed a ballast.

John,
Thanks for post. It is exactly what I need. From what I have found, the JD 50s switched in the mid to late 1953 time frame to Delco. BTW, I was rewiring my 720 and could not figure out where i was having issues of not starting. I finally used your wiring checklist from posted several years ago on this site. Worked like a charm. Now the 720 runs better than ever!

Also, on the voltage regulator on a 720 JD, there are three tabs to hook wires to on the back, with batt being in the middle. Is the "L" used for anything?
Thanks
Joel

If it has the 4 terminal (BAT LOAD FLD GEN) VR versus only the 3 (BAT FLD GEN) all the 12 volt loads (lights and ignition) are supposed to be fed from the VR's (L)oad terminal via a wire from it up to the dash switches BAT INPUT terminal. On a 3 terminal VR loads are fed from the ammeters Load terminal, same terminal that wires down to BAT on the VR. It will still work if loads are fed off the ammeter and the L isnt used, but its best if wired correctly.

M Man has ya covered on how JD recommended one could temporarily re wire in cold winter months to increase battery charge rates
