40 series cowl cover

Does anybody have any experience with the upholstered 1 piece cowl cover for 40 series tractors? Both Deere and Fehr have them and Fehr is considerably cheaper. Does this cover fit over the old metal cowl covers, or does it fit by itself? Thanks for any information you have on this.

I've had a Fehr cowling in front of the dash on my 4255 for several years with no problems. On my 4255 the Fehr cowl replaced the complete JD cowl.

Have you ever seen the optional cowl covers for the 55-series and 60-series tractors (if memory serves) that don't have the cutout for the fuse panel? I put one in my grandpa's 8450 because on the 4wds you're always rubbing against the cowl getting in and out and they don't last and it's worked real well. That later material on the covers holds up much better than the 50-series, and there's a plastic "rub plate" over the material where your boots are always hitting it.
