70 gas keep or junk

6 or 7 years ago I bought a 70 gas, it ran ok just used oil. Then the flywheel got loose, and I noticed cracks all around the hub of it. So I tore it down with plans to rebuild it. When I got it apart the crank was shot and so was alot of other things. That was as far as I got, 6 years ago. Now I kinda want to start on again. . .but someone stole all the tinwork and a few other things. So I am debating the cost of finding everything it needs vs just knocking it in the head. I really want to get it going again, I have a love for the 70. But wow its gonna take alot of coconuts if I do. What would you do?

You need to find another parts tractor and build 1 out of 2. The parts you need would be expensive to buy, but if you find another tractor with a good crank and hood you can do ok. The doaner wouldn't need things like a block or carburetor that you already have. Take your time and look around.

There are stll plenty around in decent shape and running condition we sold two over the past few years a wide front for 2700 and a narrow front for 2500 they both were strong runners with decent metal. both had good flywheeels.

In most cases a good example of a model is the cheaper way to go and a whole lot more enjoyable than a fence row or one that you need sheetmetal and then a crank, flywheel, piston and rings, bearings and the list goes on and on,The 70 is not hard to find and I really believe you'll be cheaper to look a little but I sell parts so what do I know????
