4010 weep holes

I have a 4010 JD with 6 cylinder diesel. There are 6 holes in block on left side and one behind starter began leaking antifreeze. Any ideas what this means and what repair is needed if any? Thanks

The weep hole seepage mean the o rings are leaking as they let the antifreeze out the holes rather than in crankcase.New sleeves and pistons with the new o rings and she will run a long time.Thats the only real fix.

The liner seals or the liners have started to deteriorate,This is caused by a combination of old age,possibly the wrong coolant, or the coolant not being changed regularly, or additives kept up. The holes are "weep holes" They are there to let any coolant that gets past the seals leak out rather than down into the crankcase. You can continue to use the tractor for awhile,just keep an eye on your oil level and color.You don't want antifreeze in the crankcase. It will eventually have to have the seals replaced which means a tear down. You may be lucky and just get by with seals,but there is the possibility the liners will have to be replaced, or worst case scenario, the block will have to be repaired or replaced depending on the amount of corrosion damage.

I agree with Larry that is the best way to re-new the engine, till then clean the holes out and press a lead plug into the hole to keep it from slobbering down the side till you can schedule an O/H, and No it won"t hurt anything, the newer blocks don"t have the holes which were just a visual warning of upper o-ring failure, just check your oil regularly,the lower ring could hold the water back for a couple more years or a couple more days,,Darn it

Like the others said, O rings are leaking. You can run for a while, but plan on an OH.
