Do any of you know of someone or some supplier that makes the Power-Trol idler shaft to fit a "60"? I can have bushings made for the gear but would presume the shaft is hardened. Had thought of making my own and hardening the surface with carborizing compound but that would probably only go .002"-.003" deep. Have called several bone yards and they all have none or one that"s galled badly. Any ideas are appreciated.Ted K |

| Also the late AR used the same set up in case any of your bone yards have one of these. The one I had even had needle bearings in it instead of a bushing. Not sure why Deere changed to a bushing on later models ? |

| | Thanks for the replies. I wasn"t aware JD still had the shafts available since they no longer have the bushings for the gear. I"ll check it out as well as adding an oil line. Ted K |

Pretty sure Deere never did sell the gear bushings separately, just furnished a fully bushed gear. Now might be the time to have it bored if necessary, and to install a needle bearing. Or maybe someone on here has a badly galled gear you can use to experiment with. |

| I made that repair twice on my 630. Second time the idler gear galded to the shaft and I had to cut it out with a torch. I got all the parts at JD, as Frank suggested. I also added an oil line to the right end of the housing to lube the shaft. It runs cool now. |

I have heard a lot of folks who added extra oiling to the pump drive. |

How bad do you want one? Deere sells them new for $110 or so. |
