Coolant in Oil JD 2510

I have a 1967 John Deere 2510 with a Gas engine. I am having a problem with coolant in the oil. I changed the head gasket and oil this weekend, and the coolant re-appeared in the oil after only 30 minute of running the engine. When I start the engine there is NO smoke at all. I need help figuring out what to look at next.

More than likely the liners have pitted from a combination of old age and poor cooling system maintenance. Pull the pan,and use a radiator pressure tester pumped up to about 10-12 lbs. look up into the bottom of the cylinders and you will see which cylinder liner or seals are leaking.
Might as well figure on doing an inframe on it cause if 1 cylinder is leaking water the other 3 aren't far behind

I had the same thing happen on my 2520 diesel last winter. Photo shows what my liners looked like. In-frame overhaul kits come with new sleeves and pistons.

Surprised the gasser sleeves pitted through. Somebody must have never changed the anti-freeze or they used plain water.
iirc there are LP pistons for a little extra snort.
The cam and followers will be worn too. Just looking at them isn't going to tell either. A re-grind is reasonable in price.

The other replies are 100% correct, I have even seen where the block itself is ate away, leaving no groove for the new orings. We cleaned up the o-ring groove in the block and built it up with JB Weld then ground it to shape. That was 20 years ago and to my knowledge it is still running.

WOW! I was afraid of that. I guess I will do some disassembly of this engine. I guess I know what my winter project is going to be. Thanks for all of the replies.

Best just order a kit from your dealer and start tearing down the engine. It's not a really hard job, and you'll likely notice a real difference with new bearings, pistons and sleeves. ALWAYS use coolant conditioner in those engines.
