We noticed we believe four 80, John Deere listed today and the prices seem quite unrealisic based on their condition etc , we know they made less than 3500 of them ,a man in iowa at one time owned the 1st and second made and a man in eastern Montana had the last one ,,,,with about 290 with manual steering and a fair amount exported maybe these are kinda rare wondering what some others think..thanks

This one was given a spot in my barn (permanently) in the spring of 2008. Top dollar was paid then and have not seen one sell even close to what I gave since (all have been higher).

Glad I got one when I did.

Dan,
That is a beautiful machine. I think all of the big models toward the end of the two cylinder era are not only special but will be a good investment in the long run. I'd like to find one of each from the "R" to the 830.

ooh ya that guy is dreaming, tractors siezed up and wants way more than running ones sell.

I've had an 80 for 10 years now. They are great tractors....but bottomless moneypits if you find the wrong one. Mine was cheap ($4500) but have spent plenty since then.

Love the tractor, but it's quite a learning experience too!
