oil in clutch housing

I HAVE A 1949 G JOHN DEERE THAT IS LEAKING OIL IN THE CLUTCH HOUSEING. ITS WETTING THE CLUTCH DISC'S AND OTHER COMPONENTS. LOOKS LIKE ITS COMING THROUGH THREE HOLES IN BACK OF HOUSEING

That would be a neat trick if they used a seal.

Most times a worn pulley bushing, and maybe a plugged oil drain back hole can cause oil into the clutch, but most times its the worn bushing. The close fit is all that holds the oil back. Crankcase blow-by can cause oil throwing as well. Worse when you drop the right wheel into a furrow to plow.
