One sold near me a yr ago in KS. Original owner and he USED AND ABUSED IT! Not a straight piece of metal on it. Brought 20K
I have one I bought 12 yrs ago before they were in demand to the collectors. Very nice except for the hood. Owner started with a screwdriver while it was in gear. Hit the fuel barrel stand and down came the barrel on the hood. I found a used hood and repainted the tractor since the paint did not match patena-wise. Been a good tractor. Original working tach shows 1130hrs (11,130) and still the original pistons. Had an underhaul at 5600 hrs. Everything that was done from oil changes to the underhaul was written in the back of the owners manual. Plus it was never pulled. had a 158 loader with a Hoeschler bale acummulater grapple on it for loading semis. Has 500# inside weights on rear ordered from factory or dealer installed at 0hrs.

It also doesn't have the battery top hold downs with the rods on it. The SCV rod should be in the console slot, not a jerry rigged lever. Not sure why. It also appears he has cut the console cover plate for this new lever and the cover around the base of it is missing. Also missing a sway block on the right side. The dash light just in front of the steering column is missing the cover. It also has 4 lights in the fenders instead of 2. Missing the rear light.

I can't see the L/D lever in the photo with the seat BUT the right had side of the console is missing along with the knob on the scv handle.

Jim Hate when they paint them all up trying to hide something always red flag for me. Have not seen a nice original 4000 for awhile, was looking at one this past year but was not going to spend $20,000 what guy was asking. Heard that one sold for $19,000 was listed in here a few times but dont see it anymore.

You are correct there was.We did what he asked and then wanted more.30/40/50 year old tractors are only new once. One out of a few hundred is good but not perfect and thats the one that hurts you.If you want the details I would be glad to discuss it.
