john deere 620 hours

Was looking at a JD 620 and noticed it had over 8000 hours on it. Does that sound like a lot to you? Would that tractor be wore out?

Forgot to mention that the tractor does not run and is not stuck.

Really thats not too bad. If the As and Bs had hour meters on them, I bet most would show upwards of 20,000 hours or better. Care and maintnence plays a big factor. Is the tractor beat up? Does it smoke? If it LOOKS like it has high hrs on it, then chances are it might need work.

That's more realistic than the ones you see advertised with 2500 hours that had a broken hour meter for 30 years.

I always check play in steering, hand clutch, brak pedals, wear on drawbar pin hole, etc.

You never can tell if these parts are original on an old tractor but if you give the whole thing a good look over you should have a ballpark idea of hours and maintenance.

8000 is not all that many hours for a tractor that old. That's 140 hours a year if it was used every year since it was new. Just about anything that's worn out on it can be fixed. Jim
