I just recently aquired a John Deere Model L. My dad had it for years and two years ago he had it restored. It looks great but since my dad died and it was left to me I don"t know anything about it. What"s it good for? (i.e. plowing, wagon pulling etc.) Is there any attachments that I could get for it? Any know problems with this tractor? I welcome any info on this tractor.

There are plenty of attachments. I guess it depends on what you expect out if it. There are full cultivators, land plows, and sickle bar mowers for common implements. Snow plows are hard to find. An L can easily take care of a big garden in terms of tillage and cultivation. You see land plows and cultivators for sale pretty often and reasonbly priced. More uncommon implements would be planter units and some of the harrows are hard to come by. A harrow for a Farmall Cub is about the right size and easier to find.

As far as known issues... not too many besides not easy to get on and off. Rear tires are getting pricey and not so easy to find.

Parts are pretty easy to find and not too expensive for most wear and tear type items. It's a smaller tractor so taking it to shows doesn't require a big truck and trailer.

I have a breaking plow for an L Im wanting to sell. Also rear wheel weights,at a resonable price, and a belt pulley for the drive shaft, email is open
