My brother has a 70 in the shop that has a knock -- supposedly it was overhauled-and it knocked--so they took off the inspection plate once again and found everything was ok--he ran it that way for years--light duty and not much -- it still knocks for the new owner and he wants the knock fixed-- what could be the knock? i am thinking rings hitting the ridge-- and what should the compression be? this one has 90on the right and 110 on the left-- the noise seems to be on the left-- the flywheel bolts are tight!any thoughts would be helpful-- thank you in advance -- Roys Toys

Take it back and I will take if off your hands. I hate seeing issues like this become an issue. Let me know what I need to pay email is open.

Until the compression pressure was stated, we had no idea if this was a spark ignition or diesel.
Has anybody checked ignition timing at slow idle and fast idle?

The flywheel is loose...just because the flywheel bolts are tight, it doesn't mean the flywheel is tight. Sounds just like a knock. Our 70 gas went through two flywheels until I put a taper lock flywheel on it...no more problems.
